Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band Come to the Eccles Theater in June
One of the last touring members of The Beatles is coming to Salt Lake. Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band will play the Eccles Theater downtown on Monday, June 1 — a stop on the continuing global tour that has kept the former Beatles drummer on the road for more than three decades. The All-Starr Band has rotated through dozens of classic-rock luminaries over the years, and Ringo's current lineup leans heavily on multi-instrumentalist veterans whose catalogs pair naturally with the Fab Four greatest hits.
The Eccles Theater is the newer-than-it-looks flagship performing arts venue on Main Street, with a 2,500-seat room built for exactly this kind of acoustic-heavy touring show. Recent All-Starr setlists have blended Beatles classics ("With a Little Help From My Friends," "Yellow Submarine," "Octopus's Garden") with solo hits ("Photograph," "It Don't Come Easy") and contributions from each All-Starr member's own catalog.
If you're going: the theater is on Main Street between 100 and 200 South, a short walk from Temple Square. Plan to arrive early — the pre-show merchandise line stretches around the corner at Ringo shows.
