The Downtown Farmers Market Returns to Pioneer Park This Weekend
Spring officially hits Salt Lake City this weekend. The Downtown Farmers Market — the year-round highlight of the city's food scene and one of the largest farmers' markets in the Intermountain West — launches its spring run April 11 at Pioneer Park, with a smaller version also set for April 18. The full summer market runs Saturdays through October, but the spring openings are where regulars reunite with their favorite growers and get first pick of the season's earliest produce.
Pioneer Park fills with local farmers, bakers, and artisans — sourdough loaves still warm, microgreens clipped that morning, heirloom carrots pulled at dawn in Payson, and the first Utah asparagus of the year. Coffee roasters pour cold brew, buskers work the edges of the lawn, and the Wasatch Range frames the view from every corner of the park.
If you're going: arrive before 10 a.m. for the best pick of the earliest produce. The park is a short walk from most downtown hotels; parking is easier on the north side off 300 South.
